  • Pool Rules | Westminster-Pool

    Rules Users agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Westminster Pool Association and any amendments which may be enacted hereafter. These regulations apply to all users. If necessary, lifeguards on duty may choose to apply additional rules. Members not respecting the rules may be expelled from the pool grounds. Children under 5 years old, as well as non-swimmers ages 6 to 8, must have a guardian in the pool with them. The Guardian must be within arms reach, and this during the entire time in the water. The Guardian must be at least 14 years old. All children 11 years and under, as of June 30th, must be accompanied by an adult/guardian (14 years and older) while on pool premises for non-structured activities (i.e. free swim). Kids who are 11, as of June 30th, may come to the pool for their structured activities (i.e. lessons, leaders events) but can’t stay on pool premises unattended at the end of the activity. As of 12, children could stay on pool premises on their own. Children that are not toilet trained must wear a water/swimming diaper. No glass containers are permitted on deck. No running on deck. No hanging onto the lane ropes, or deep end rope. No holding, sitting, or standing on the starting blocks outside of lessons or swim team practice. No disturbing or distracting the lifeguards while up on chair duty. Respect the 1m from waters edge to yellow line boundary on deck. No chairs or other obstructions should be in this space at any time. During adult swim, all kids 17 years of age and under must leave the water and remain behind the yellow line until free swim is called again. No smoking or vaping on pool premises/grounds. No diving in the shallow end of the pool. No jumping/diving off the diving board until the previous diver has exited the water. No climbing the steps of the diving board until the previous diver is off the end of the board. No reaching up with your hands and grabbing/hanging off the diving boards edge during free deep end swim. No pushing, dunking, spitting of water, or rough housing on deck, in the pool, or in the back grass. No water guns, nerf guns, or water balloons are permitted from home. No somersaults, back, or inward dives off the diving board during free swim. The baby pool can only be used with the presence of a lifeguard inside the baby pool gated area. No running, standing, or jumping on the tabletops, or benches of the picnic tables. Only Pool members, paid guests, or visitors can enter pool grounds.

    Think soccer + rugby + swimming, if that sounds good come try waterpolo. Waterpolo A lot of the kids call it a mix of soccer or handball and swimming, only more fun! Westminster Waterpolo is one of the favorite activities at the pool. Last year, in 2024, our Wes Crocs U12 Water-polo team the bronze medal at the tournament. The age categories are: 12 years and under - co ed 14 years and under - boys and girls 16 years and under - boys and girls Since there are no limitations on the minimum age, a younger player is allowed to compete at more than one level. NAA Waterpolo really promotes team work and healthy competition. There are 2 practices and one game per week during the season.     Leaders The leaders program is an ideal program for young people (aged 12 to 16) to become involved in making a contribution to the pool community while having a fun summer. Are you in a program (high school or Cegep) that requires volunteer hours that must be logged and signed off on? All the responsibilities listed below can help meet your program requirements, all you need to do is speak with an executive prior to starting. Requirements and Responsibilities: Leaders must be 12 years old or completed grade six. Leaders must be willing to assist lifeguards as required Leaders will assist lifeguards during swimming lessons and Guppies Leaders will participate and assist in organising fundraisers Leaders will be assigned to canteen duty Leaders will participate in gate duty, greeting members and other clients Leaders will babysit during aquafit/yoga. While these may seem like a lot of responsibilities, rest assured that leaders may choose the duties they feel would suit them best and the shifts are not endless. It’s important that you have fun while taking on these new responsibilities. We encourage as many kids as possible to sign up as leaders. The more leaders there are, the more enjoyable it will be for everyone. In addition, the leaders will participate in several exciting activities.

    Book your party at Westminster Pool Party Bookings Host your party at WES! You may make a reservation for a 3 hour block of time to host a party during free swim. Please note that the pool will remain open to members during this time. Sunday reservations can only be from 1- 4 pm due to Family BBQ. There is a fee of $5 per non member and any WES members attend for free . Alcohol/glass containers are not permitted on the premise. We have large freezers available if you need to store your birthday cake. Reservations will be confirmed by a member of our committee or staff to ensure availability. BOOK NOW

    Come join one of the top Summer Synchro teams in the West Island of Montreal. Synchro Hello Boys & Girls! Come out and join our synchro team! We have teams for kids of all levels & ages. All you need is to be able to tread water for 1 minute in the deep end. Synchro is a great way to be a part on a team and meet new friends, while learning a cool routine to music! Synchro is an amazing sport & WES encourages everyone to come out and try it! Can't wait to see you there.
